“America’s Toughest Race” was the mentality riders were presented with at Round 8 of the 2019 GNCC series, held at the Snowshoe Ski Resort, in Snowshoe, West Virginia. Paying homage to the origin of GNCC, the Blackwater 100 that was held in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s in Davis, West Virginia. Riders would take off in rows of 5 on the main road leading to the top of the mountain, starting them on three hours of the toughest course of the year. The main road split the course into 12.2 miles on the east side, and 8.3 miles on the west side. With deep mud holes, slippery rock hill climbs, and endless sections of slick roots, the riders were given their biggest challenge of the season. Round 9 takes place at the High Voltage GNCC in Dilliner, Pennsylvania.
