January 31^st - February 1^st, 2020

The fifth stop on the 2019-2020 Amsoil Championship Snocross tour brought us to a new venue in Dubuque, Iowa. The previous three years, Sundown Mountain Resort hosted the event. This season, racing took place at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds—providing a large and technical track with sweeping corners and massive rhythm sections. Mild temps over the weekend meant more wet snow and ever-changing track conditions. Friday night’s snowfall was beautiful but provided limited visibility. Nonetheless, FXR athletes continued their success in Iowa, bringing home 34 podium finishes over the weekend.

200 STOCK 

Riley Johnson #106 went a solid 2-1 in his heats on Saturday, moving on to take 2^nd in the final.

 

120 CHAMP

FXR swept the podium in the 120 Champ class Saturday night. Wyatt Skogquist #172 went 2-2 in his heats and snagged 3^rd in the final.

AJ Skogquist #113 took double wins in his heat races on Saturday. Skogquist went on to take 2^nd place in the final.

fter taking 1^st in both of her heats, Avery Hemmer #415 fought hard for her win in Saturday night’s 120 Champ final.

 

JR GIRLS 9-13

Fast and consistent, these three FXR athletes swept the Jr Girls 9-13 podium on Saturday.

Jerzie Zielinski #510 went 3-3 in her heats and finished off the day with another 3^rd in the final.

After going 2-2 in her heats, Kendall Rose #120 raced her way to a 2^nd place podium finish.

Triple wins for Naëli Lebel #518 on Saturday—two heat wins and a 1^st place in her final.

 

TRANSITION 8-10 

Carter Meyeraan #125 had a very successful weekend, going 1-1 in his heats on Saturday and taking 3^rd in the final.

 

TRANSITION 9-13

All three FXR athletes who podiumed in the Transition 9-13 class scored a 1^st and a 2^nd in their heats. Tanner Johnson #313 went 2-1 in his heat races and took 3^rd in the final.

 

Cameron Cole #747 placed 2-1 in his heats and scored 2^nd in the final.

After going 1-2 in his heat races, Dylan Lebel #522 claimed the top spot on the box in the Transition 9-13 final.

 

 

JR 10-13

Dylan Lebel #522, Cameron Cole #747, and Tanner Johnson #313 swapped positions and made their second podium appearance of the day—Lebel in 3^rd, Cole in 2^nd, and Johnson with the win.

 

 

JR 14-15

Emeric Legendre Perron #144 scored triple wins in the Jr 14-15 class on Saturday, going 1-1 in his heats and 1^st in the final.

 

 

JR 16-17 

Chance Tietjen #500 placed 4-3 in his heats on Saturday. Charging hard, Tietjen scored 3^rd in the final.

Emeric Legendre Perron #144 continued his success with another set of triple wins—two heat race wins and 1^st in the final.

 

AMATEUR SNOWBIKE

Taven Woodie #873 took the top spot in Amateur Snowbike over the weekend.

 

SPORT LITE

There was a great turn out of Sport Lite athletes over the weekend, providing 5 heat races per round. Dubuque treated Drew Freeland #821 well, with two heat race wins over the weekend as well as two podiums. Freeland scored 2^nd in Friday night’s Sport Lite final and took the win on Saturday.

Emeric Legendre Perron #144 was going for his third triple win of the weekend. Perron went 1-1 in his heats on Saturday and finished 2^nd in the Sport Lite final.

 

SPORT

Kenny Mandryk #102 has had lots of success in other classes over the years. Mandryk made a big podium appearance in the Sport Lite class on Friday night, scoring 2^nd in the final after going 2-2 in his heats.

Jordan Lebel #511 furthered his points lead over the weekend, going 1-3 in his heats and taking the win in Friday night’s Sport final. On Saturday, Lebel went 3-3 in his heats and scored his second 1^st place podium finish.

 

PRO AM PLUS 30

Tomosuke Sano #106, hailing from Japan, went 2-1 in his heats on Saturday. Sano scored an exciting 3^rd place podium finish in the final.

 

PRO AM WOMEN

After a gnarly crash in Deadwood, Malene Andersen #93 made an exciting first podium appearance of the season in Friday night’s Pro Am Women final after going 2-1 in her heats. When Andersen came across the finish line in 2^nd, she was greeted with congratulatory embraces by both her team and competitors alike.

Andersen continued her success into Saturday’s races, going 1-4 in her heats and making another podium appearance—3^rd in Saturday night’s final.

Taven Woodie #873 was consistent and quick, scoring double 2^nd places in her heat races on Saturday. Woodie went on to snag the 2^nd spot on the box in Saturday night’s Pro Am Women final.

 

PRO SNOWBIKE

Jesse Kirchmeyer #1 returned after taking a week off to compete in the X Games Snow BikeCross where he brought home bronze. Kirchmeyer scored double wins over the weekend, claiming the top spot on the box both Friday and Saturday nights. Kirchmeyer remains the points leader, despite missing the Deadwood race weekend.

 

PRO

Boss Racing teammates dominated Dubuque. Racing out of the Jimmy John’s sponsored rig, the freaky fast riders were your sole FXR Pro podiumers over the weekend.

Due to a 5-6 in his heats, Elias Ishoel #200 battled his way through the LCQ on Friday, taking 1^st which gained him the last spot on the front row in the final. Ishoel went on to place 2^nd in Friday night’s Pro final.

Aki Pihlaja #128 has a history of success in Iowa, and this past weekend was no exception. Pihlaja scored 4-3 in his heat races on Friday and went on to score a big win in the final. Pihlaja was off to a good start early in Saturday’s heat races where he scored double wins. Pihlaja made another podium appearance Saturday night, this time in 3^rd.

Elias Ishoel #200 furthered his points lead after taking the win in Saturday night’s Pro final. Ishoel is now 50 points ahead of Daniel Benham in the points race.

We’ll be back at it in two weeks when Snocross heads out east to Salamanca, New York for Rounds 11 and 12 on February 21^st and 22^nd.
